Shipping & Pickup Policy

At Canadian Metal Products & Design Inc., we strive to provide transparent and fair logistics. Because our products are often heavy, oversized, or custom-fabricated, the following policies apply to all shipments and pickups.

1. Shipping Quotes & Market Volatility

Shipping is calculated as part of your quote ONLY if you request a shipping quote.

  • RFQs: We send out Requests for Quote (RFQs) to our shipping vendors once we receive your request. Due to the complexity of freight, shipping quotes can add several days to your total quote turnaround time.

  • Rate Validity & Increases: Shipping estimates are based on current carrier rates. Due to market volatility, if the actual cost of shipping increases between the time of the quote and the date of dispatch, Canadian Metal Products & Design Inc. reserves the right to pass this additional cost through to the customer. These increases will be billed at cost with zero markup from us.

  • Delivery Estimates: We provide estimates for shipping times; however, these are not guarantees and can vary based on order size, carrier availability, and time of year.

2. Local Pickup

You can skip shipping fees with free local pickup at our manufacturing facility:

  • How to select: On your RFQ, please DO NOT check the "Calculate Shipping" option.

  • Process: We will email you when your order is ready with specific pickup instructions.

  • Hours: Pickup must be completed during normal business hours (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM).

  • Notice: Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance of your planned arrival so we can have your order staged. Please have your order confirmation email ready upon arrival.

3. Order Status & Damage Claims

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification with an ETA. Only some carriers provide tracking details. 

  • Inspection: You must inspect your shipment immediately upon arrival.

  • Damage: If your product arrives damaged, you must document the damage with photos and notify us at info@canmet.ca within 48 hours of delivery. While we do not accept returns, we will work with you to resolve transit damage or manufacturing defects in a timely manner.

4. No Returns & Deposits

  • All Sales Final: We do not accept returns or exchanges on any products (made-to-order or standard).

  • Deposits: All deposits are strictly non-refundable, as they secure materials and production scheduling for your project.
